Donna Ogilvie

Donna L. Ogilvie, 75, of Bridgewater, formerly of Port Charlotte, FL, was called home after a prolonged illness on November 16, 2022. Born to Winona Tomlinson of Waltham and Allan McLean of Maine. She is survived by her children, sons, Peter Fitzgerald and his wife Janice Fitzgerald, Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Anna Marie Fitzgerald, and Jim Fitzgerald, her daughters, Christine Fitzgerald and her wife Kristen Dunne, and Patty Petitti and her husband Mark Petitti. Her grandchildren, Jeffrey Fitzgerald, Aaron Petitti, Aidan Petitti, and Adrian Petitti. Her sisters, Edna Kaiser and Barbara Sferrazza and her husband Paul Sferrazza and many nieces and nephews.

A registered nurse for over 35 years, she worked in many specialties, including cardiology, ICU and OR recovery. Donna served on DMAT (Disaster Medical Alert Team) where she was deployed as a first responder on 9/11 at ground zero to assist with emergency relief and recovery efforts. She enjoyed helping and serving others and it showed in her many cards and letters of thanks from patients. She felt being a nurse and helping others was a privilege.

Her hands were never still. She loved crocheting blankets and afghans for her loved ones or playing her computer games with the volume all the way up.

An avid animal lover, Donna had many pets she adored over the years including Jessie, Lucy, Molly, and Maggie.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's name to the Humane Society.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 3-6 pm in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington Street, Whitman, MA 02382.

There will be a graveside service at Blue Hills Cemetery at a later date for family and friends.
