Viola Allen

Viola B. Allen, 78 of RI, died peacefully at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA, Friday, March 20, 2015 after a long battle with COPD. Born on July 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Broome and Bertha Waycaster Broome of Gastonia, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Allen of Naugatuck, CT; sister, Carolyn S. Jordan; brother, Robert W. Broome of NC.
Viola grew up in NC where she graduated from Gaston Community College, and worked as a bookkeeper, until marrying and starting a family in 1974. She is survived by her four children and their spouses Tia and Stephen Barkaszi, Larry and Tracy Allen, Elizabeth Allen and her fiancé, and Julie Allen and her boyfriend; brother, William Broome and his wife Maryanne; sister-in-law, Barbara Falls; as well as six grandchildren.
