Vincent Comunale, 85, of Quincy, Massachusetts and Florida passed away on November 14, 2024 at Hancock Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, after a brief battle with COVID. He was born August 27, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Vincent Comunale of Italy and Evelyn B. Comunale (Zottoli) of Quincy. Evelyn later remarried the late Edward F. Carey.
Vincent is survived by his former wife, Beverly Herrera, their two daughters, Lynne Marie Secatore (Peter) of Florida & Plymouth Massachusetts and Stacy Ann McDonald of Quincy, and his brother Edward Carey (Nancy). He also leaves four grandchildren: Nicholas Secatore, Christina Secatore, Sara McDonald and Melissa Ledet (William) and two nephews, Edward Jr. and Leo Carey.
As the oldest son of Evelyn Carey, Vincent stepped in to help raise his younger brother Edward Carey, and they remained close throughout the years. Vincent and Beverly raised their family on the water in Hull, Massachusetts.
Vincent worked in a variety of fields, from being in a band with his long-time friends to being a manager at General Dynamics. He was a great cook with a sweet tooth! He loved playing his guitar, sailing, and riding his motorcycle. He sailed down the east coast and landed in a marina in St. Augustine, Florida where he lived for over a decade and then moved to dry land in Daytona before moving back to Martha’s Vineyard to again live by the sea.
Vincent spent his final years back in Quincy, close to his family. He greatly enjoyed his family’s visits and the chocolates and pastries they regularly brought to brighten his day.
A celebration of life will be held with family in the summer of 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Expect Miracles Foundation in memory of Vincent Stephen Comunale. Any amount is welcome in the fight against cancer. https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/spkEes2dYG5Cy1fbbTPQlw
