Thomas P. Bentcliff of Whitman passed away Saturday August 29, 2015 at the West Roxbury V.A. Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was 76. Beloved son of the late Melvin and Ann (Roncarati) Bentcliff. Loving friend of 50 years to Sally A. Leitch. Brother of Marilyn Parker of IN. Survived by adopted daughter Dawn Varley, of Whitman, William, Paul,
John, and Bruce Varley, and extended family the Newcombs. Tom was a Veteran in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a self employed mechanic at Conlon's Garage on Temple St. in Whitman for 50 years. Graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School Class of 58, a Whitman Call Firefighter for Many years, and a member of the American Legion Post 22 in Whitman.
Visiting hours will be in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St. Whitman Tuesday 4-8 PM with services in the Funeral Home at 7:30 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
Burial will take place at a later date at Northville Cemetery, Oak St., East Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers Tom wanted donations in his memory to the Whitman Food Pantry C/O Holy Ghost Church 518 Washington St. Whitman, MA 02382.
