Thelma Christina (Hicks) Gardner of Halifax passed away at the Brockton Hospital on Thursday January 31, 2013 at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell H. Gardner. Daughter of the late George and Gladys (Garnett) Hicks. Loving mother of Warren I. Gardner and his wife Betsy J. of Pembroke, John S. Gardner and his wife Olive P., Russel Q Gardner and his wife Lorinda all of Whitman, April R.C. Gardner Doyle and her husband Steven of Taunton, the late George O. Gardner and his wife Gail of FL, late Paul O. Gardner and his wife Patricia of Whitman and the late June C. Blodgett and her husband Steven of PA. Also survived by 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and many cousins. Thelma worked in the cafeteria at the Whitman-Hanson High School for over 30 years. She loved to crochet and made afghans for many of her friends and family. She loved bingo, playing the slot machines at Foxwoods, reading, scratch tickets, crossword puzzles, blueberry picking, music, especially country and western, old Shirley Temple movies but above all spending time with her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St. Whitman on Wednesday February 13th 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
Funeral Services will be held in the Hanson Congregational Church, High St., Hanson on Thursday Feb. 14th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
Internment Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
