Sandra Dushame

August 8, 1943 — September 12, 2016

Sandra Anne Dushame, 73 of Rockland formerly of Whitman, died peacefully after a long illness on September 12, 2016. Sandra, who was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth (Quick) and Bernard Herbert Dushame was born and lived in Dorchester until she moved to the South Shore in 1963. She became a nurse in 1974, received an associate’s degree from Quincy College, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater State College. Sandy was a caring, compassionate Psychiatric R.N. at Brockton Hospital until she retired in 2009. Sandy was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and went on her dream vacation to Graceland with her granddaughter Danielle and great-granddaughter Casey. She loved crocheting, sewing, quilting, singing in the choir at Holy Ghost Church and crafting. Sandra was devoted to her family and friends.

Former wife and devoted friend forever to Leo F. Venuti of Braintree. Loving mother to Joanne DeCelle and her husband “Jack” of Randolph, Leo J. Venuti and his wife Barbara of Braintree and the late Corrina Venuti. Cherished grandmother “Nana” to Danielle Tuck and her husband Stephen, Ryan Schuster, Arielle Hitchcock and her husband Ryan, Nathan Schuster and his wife Tori, Dylan Schuster and his partner Corrina Giampetro, Michael Venuti, Nicholas Marks, Luis Centeno and his partner Carly Hammond, Antonio Centeno, and Leo and Angelina Venuti. Great-grandmother “Nana to Cassandra and Azalea, Nathan and Aubrey, Damien, Sandra, Benjamin, Tighe, Dominic and Nicholas. Beloved sister of the late Carole L. Dubois, James E. Conley and Richard H. Reil. Loving Auntie to several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends rspectfuly invited to attend Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Friday Sept. 16 th 4-7 pm.

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 am Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9 am.

Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, South Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers donations in Sandra’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl.
