Rosemarie Elizabeth (Berard) Connolly of East Bridgewater, died on June 9th at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was 83 years old.
Rosemarie was born on April 13, 1938 in Quincy, Massachusetts. She was the seventh of nine children born to George and Marie (Angers) Berard. Rose graduated from North Quincy High School in 1955. Soon after graduation she began working as a secretary for an insurance company in Boston. Rose married Thomas Connolly on August 5, 1961. They bought a home in East Bridgewater and began their family. Rose was a proud mom to five sons. After raising her boys, Rose worked as a typesetter for many years before retiring in 1988.
Rose was a devoted wife, mother, and a beloved grandmother. She loved to cook and was always trying new recipes and would share the ones she loved with friends and family. She enjoyed summer days on their boat, having cookouts with friends & family and took occasional trips to Foxwoods with her husband. Rose also enjoyed watching old classic movies, playing games on her computer, and spending time with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Thomas Connolly of East Bridgewater MA, her four sons and their spouses, Thomas and Brenda of Bridgewater MA, Edward and Mary of Hanover MA, James and Diane of Camas, WA, and Daniel and Gayle of East Bridgewater MA, her 7 grandchildren whom she adored, Rachel, Michelle, Shannon, Cameron, Michael, Kacey, and Aaron. She is survived by her sister Jeannette Flaherty of New York; brother Alfred Berard of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Michael George Connolly.
Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Monday June 14 th 4-7 pm.
A funeral mass will be on Tuesday in St. John’s Church, East Bridgewater at 12 pm.
Burial to follow at Central Cemetery in East Bridgewater.
