Robert Allen Price (Bob), 88 of West Harwich died peacefully on July 30 at Epoch of Brewster with family at his side.
Bob was born on October 13, 1924 in Boston, Ma to the late Anna T. MacDonald and George E. Price. He was raised in Hyde Park, MA and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. He served in the Army during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Anna Clare Twitchell in July of 1948, and recently celebrated their 65 th wedding anniversary. Bob worked at Mason Neilan Regulator Co. in Dedham until his retirement. Bob and Anna were communicants of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in West Harwich.
In 1984, their dream of retiring to Cape Cod became a reality. They moved from Randolph to West Harwich where they have lived for the past 29 years. They opened their home to many guests over the years with their Bed & Breakfast, Wind Chimes, and always enjoyed welcoming returning guests.
They wintered in Marco Island for several years and looked forward to reconnecting with fellow “snowbirds,” but their real love has always been Cape Cod. One of Bob’s greatest joys was sailing on his boat, Wind Dancer. He loved spending time with his family, and never missed an opportunity to suggest a sail on a calm day.
He is survived by his beloved wife Anna, and his children Carol O’ Donnell of East Bridgewater, Janet McLaughlin of Plymouth and Bob Price of Kingston; his brother William Price of Falmouth, Donald Price of Sandwich, and sister Ann Garafano of Marstons Mills; He will be missed by all his grandchildren: Brian & John O’Donnell, Jana Balboni, Isaac, Duncan & Nicolas Banks, Eric & Lauren Price; as well as great grandchildren: Grace, Aidan, Connor, Lily & Molly O’Donnell, Tyler & Justin Balboni, and Addison Grace Banks; along with his many nieces and nephews.
Bob was an extraordinary husband to Anna, and wonderful father to his children. To say that he will be missed by all who knew is undeniable. He will be loved and remembered till the end of our days.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the special caregivers Barbara Dineen & Mary Sprout of the VNA Hospice of Cape Cod, and the expert, caring staff at Epoch of Brewster that brought dignity and comfort to his final days.
A memorial service and celebration of Bob's life will be held on Wed, August 7 at 10:30 am at St. John's Church located at 210 Central Street, East Bridgewater.
