Richard H. "Dick" Colvin Jr. of Whitman died peacefully at Hancock Park Nursing Facility in Quincy Wednesday May 6, 2015, at the age of 92. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor L. (Bearce) Colvin. Son of the late Richard H. Sr. and Marion (Capiferri) Colvin. Richard is survived by his devoted granddaughter Christie T. Colvin of Whitman. He was the loving father of Heidi M. Oswald of Wolcott, CT, Chrisell L. Cronin of Jonesborough, TN, and Rozalen J. Jenkins of Cape Cod. Brother of the late Marie Colvin and the late Francis Colvin.  Grandfather of Rybecca Abbott, Lindsey Steele, Alex and Zack Pober, Kenney and Kayla Cronin. Great grandfather of Nathan, Joshua, and Benjamin Abbott. Born in Brockton, Dick graduated from Brockton High School, enlisted in the U.S.  Army and served in W.W. ll. He is a graduate of Murray State College in OK. He was president of Colvin Plumbing and Heating Co. for 50 years, and was a member of the Whitman Board of Health, and a health Inspector for Whitman and
West Bridgewater. He is a member of the VFW Post 697 and the American Legion Post in Whitman. Founder of the Whitman Lions, Co-owner of Colrose Reality in Whitman. He loved playing baseball and spending time with his family, vacationing in Weirs Beach, NH, weekend get a-ways and traveling to many places.

Visiting hour will be held from the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St.  Whitman Saturday 8:30 to 10 AM with a grave side service at Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman at 10:30.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richard's memory to Alzheimer’s Unit Activity Fund Hancock Park 164 Parking Way Quincy, MA 02169.
