Richard Macaskill

Richard “Rick” R. MacAskill of Whitman passed away Tuesday February 24, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Brockton at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Elaine P. (Glynn) MacAskill. Loving father of Brittany A. MacAskill of Whitman. Son of the late Donald and Edith (Robertson) MacAskill. Brother of Steven MacAskill of RI, Terry MacAskill of Hanover, Peter MacAskill of Marshfield, Bruce MacAskill of Colorado Springs, CO and the late Kristin Gilmore of Franklin. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rick was an avid gardener and fisherman. He was a U.S Army Veteran serving during Vietnam. Member of Whitman VFW Post 697, and he was a trustee at the First Congregational Church, Whitman.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Thursday Feb. 26 ^th 4-7 pm.

Funeral Services on Friday in the First Congregational Church, 519 Washington St., Whitman at 11 am. Relatives and friends invited to attend.

Interment at a later date at Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne.
