Phyllis Dodrill

Phyllis E. (Troy) Dodrill, 88, a life long resident of Whitman, passed away at her family home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Mrs Dodrill was raised by her parents, the late Florence Robichaud-Troy and Thomas E. Troy. Phyllis had 9 siblings; survived by brothers Andrew Rossi of Akron, Ohio and James Pancyck of Brockton, and many nieces and nephews.

Married for nearly 60 years to the late William Nelson Dodrill, she was survived by their four children;  Paula of Whitman, Steven William and his wife Terri of Hanson, Linda and her husband Cleve Bothwell of Largo Fla. and William Nelson Dodrill Jr. and his wife Dianne of Whitman. Phyllis, also known as Nana, was survived by her grandchildren Elizabeth, Nicoletta, Ashley, Steven, Courtney, Chandler and Samantha, and also great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dodrill, a graduate of Whitman High School Class of 1948, worked at a family owned business, Carol Anne’s Donut Shop in Whitman. She was also a long-time election worker for the Town Of Whitman. Phyllis would admit her most important job was being a Mom and Nana.

Phyllis loved her trips to the Cape during the summer and condo in Florida during the winter. She enjoyed spending time with her dear friends and family as well as baking and cooking for family and one of her shining qualities was assisting in raising her children and grandchildren.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Sunday from 4-8pm. Funeral gathering on Monday at 8am followed by a 9am Funeral Mass at Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment at St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
