Peter Burke

Peter Joseph Burke Jr, 70, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 9th, 2022, after fighting various health issues. He is survived by his loving wife Denise of 33 years, stepson David Cook, stepdaughter Melissa Cook, son-in-law Joseph Fortin, and the late Meghan Cook. His precious grandchildren Kelsey Willett, Nickolaus, Jackelyn, and Adelyn Cook-Fortin. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pre deceased by his father Peter J, Margaret (Dowling) Burke, also sister Judy Norton and brother Thomas Burke.

Peter was born January 5th, 1952 in Boston and grew up in Dorchester. A 1970 high school graduate from South Boston High and an attendee of Bridgewater State. He had worked numerous years in the retail supermarket business. His last long term employment was at Stop and Shop headquarters. Peter enjoyed his time with St. Kevin Emerald Knights of Dorchester Drum and Bugle Corps. One of his favorite hobbies was playing golf. He was a lifelong Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots, and Revolution fan. He was always in the middle of a good novel. His granddaughter Kelsey whom she lived with her whole life was his pride and joy. He got great enjoyment from watching his grandchildren Nickolaus, Jackeyln, and Adelyns many activities.

Visitation will be held Friday July 15 ^th in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman from 5-7 pm followed by a memorial service at 7 pm.
