Patricia C. Smith

Patricia Carole Smith, also known as Patsy or Ninny, passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 84 in Rockland, Massachusetts. She was born on April 11,1939, in Gloversville, New York. Patricia was a compassionate individual who dedicated her life to caring for others. Patricia's career was centered around helping those in need. She worked for the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) for many years, advocating for the well-being of children. Prior to that, she spent over 25 years at the Fulton County Mental Health Clinic in Johnstown, New York. As well as, dedicating her time to the Flairs Gymnastics Team, where her daughter practiced for many years.

Patricia always put others before herself, and continued to do this until the end. Friends would often reach out to her for daily phone call "therapy" sessions. In her younger years, Patricia loved to dance and was often found on the dance floor, bringing joy to those around her. She had a vibrant personality and knew how to have a good time. Her favorite color was red, which reflected her big heart and caring nature. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

Patricia is survived by her devoted and loving daughter and son-in-law, Sheri Campbell and Brian. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Meyers, and several nieces and nephews, including Timothy Meyers, Patricia Silvagio, Dean Meyers, Daniel Meyers, Theresa Garland, and her godchild, Kayleen Newcomb. Patricia's loyal companion, Brody, an adorable Shih Tzu, was always by her side. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Smith, as well as her parents, Harold and Gladys Batz, and her siblings, Harold Batz, Jr and Sally Batz. She was also preceded in death by her beloved Shih Tzu, Nikko.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation in honor of Patsy on Monday January 29, 2024 from 5-7PM in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St. Whitman. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later date. In memory of Patricia Carole Smith, donations can be made to Norwell VNA or St Jude's in lieu of flowers.
