Myrna Sandra (Grosberg) Griffith, 74, of Norton passed away on November 5, 2017 at Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Devoted mother of Jennifer Griffith of Norton, and Tracy Glumac and husband Michael of Weymouth, her final days were spent with her girls at her side. Myrna was the dear grandmother to Tracy's son, Alexander. She is also survived by her daughter Erin Flaherty and husband Michael of Cohasset and her daughters, Emma and Claire, as well as her nephew, Lonnie Cohen of Franklin, and niece, Randie Cohen of Brockton. Born and raised in Boston, she was the treasured daughter of the late Jacob and Evelyn (Gilman) Grosberg and loving sister of the late Arlene Cohen and late Marc Grosberg.
Myrna spent nearly five decades working, with an unparalleled ethic. Among her favorite roles were of a jewelry buyer and daycare provider. Before retirement, she spent almost twenty years with Goddard Medical Associates, then Bridgewater Goddard Park Medical. More than anything, her girls were the loves of her life. She spent the past several years with Jen - cooking, laughing, exploring and cheering on the Boston teams. Myrna was an enthusiastic fan, and a true homer who wore her nickname of Mommy Heinsohn with pride. Being a Grammy was a role for which she was made and there was no great joy than in hearing Alex giggle. Watching and helping Tracy be a mother was tremendous source of pride. An avid reader, Myrna enjoyed sharing and donating her vast book collection with all she encountered. In addition, she was fond of baking, crossword puzzles and crocheting. Myrna was a loyal friend, with a welcoming heart and the ability to find humor in any situation.
Cremation and committal were private.
A remembrance will take place Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Boston Tavern, 389 West Center Street, West Bridgewater from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to this celebration of Myrna's life.
Memorial donations can be made in Myrna's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at http://giftfunds.stjude.org/myrnasandra or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, ATTN: St. Jude Gift Funds, PO Box 100, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
Myrna can best be remembered though by doing something kind for someone in need, particularly a child, or by baking up something sweet and sharing.
