Michael Tierney

Michael R. Tierney, 71, of Whitman passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2021.  Michael grew up in Weymouth and was a long time resident of Whitman.  The son of the late George H. Tierney and Bette (Johnson) Tierney, he was a simple man, loved to read and could tell you any baseball fact you would ever want to know.  A kind hearted man he was often seen walking around town or riding the senior bus.  He loved to go on trips with the seniors and was always willing to help someone if they needed him to get their mail, garbage put out or bags carried.  He loved spending time with his family, laughing, smiling and joking the whole time they were together.

Michael is survived by a brother, Carl Tierney of Florida and his loving nieces, Holly (D’Allessandro) Brown and her husband John J Brown of Brockton and Tracy D’Allessandro and her fiancé Stephen Bakish also of Brockton.  His sister, Georgianna (Tierney) D’Allessandro and William (Dell) D’Allessandro formerly of Whitman, preceded him in death.
