Michael Paul Swail (Mike), age 34, of Middleboro, MA passed away peacefully on May 28 th surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband to Kimberly Swail and devoted father to son Jackson Harrison (age 3) and daughter Madelyn Olivia (age 6 months). He is also survived by his parents David Swail of Hinsdale and Heather Harrison of Ludlow, as well as his sister Carrie Bryant and her husband Garrick, his step-mother Jess Swail and step-father Bill Vigneux, his in-laws Norma and Hugh McCann, and his sister-in-law Katie McCann and her fiancé Nick Lesogor.
Mike was an incredible man and a true gentleman who was well loved and respected by all who knew him. He touched numerous lives with his big smile, kind heart, and witty sense of humor. His impact on those around him has been displayed in the overwhelming outpouring of love and support from all corners of his life.
Mike was born on July 22, 1982 and grew up in the small Berkshire County town of Hinsdale. Throughout his youth Mike participated in many sports, including soccer and football at Wahconah Regional High School. He was also a member of Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
At a young age he displayed an interest in how things worked, often taking household items apart much to the dismay of his parents. These interests eventually led him to his chosen profession of mechanical engineering. Mike earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western New England College, his Master of Science degree from Northeastern University and in 2010 earned his Professional Engineering (PE) license. For the past nine years Mike worked in the energy industry for Tri-Mont Engineering, most recently in the role of Chief Engineer.
Mike enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, scuba diving and spending time with his friends and family. His greatest joy was time spent with his wife, children, and his dog Chico.
Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Saturday, June 3 rd 12-3 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3pm in the funeral home.
