Matthew Mcgann

May 21, 1971 — February 22, 2022

Matthew E. McGann, 50, passed away on February 22, 2022 surrounded by his family in his Hubbardston home after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Gardner,MA on May 21,1971.Matt grew up in Templeton, MA and graduated from Narragansett High School. Matt was an avid outdoors-man. Fishing, hiking, biking, camping, etc. He also had quite the green thumb. Most importantly, whether it be playing cards, fishing with his kids, sharing a meal (especially seafood), or sharing laughs; he loved his family dearly and the time he spent with them. He retired from being a state worker after 32 years.

Survived by his children Skye and husband Dustin of CA, Luke and fiancé Morgan of MA, and Curtice of MA. He has three dearest grandchildren; Owen, Adelyn, Saylor, as well as a grandpup, Echo.

Predeceased by his father William of MA. Matt leaves behind his mother Joan of MA along with brothers Bill & Troy of WA, and sister Jill of MA. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Matt was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was always there if needed. The memories he imparted with us will be cherished and he will be greatly missed. Matt is reunited with his father, grandfather, his beautiful dog Paris and many others.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Matthew E. McGann to the cancer walk at UMASS Medical School 2022 UMass Cancer Walk and Run - Campaign We want to extend many thanks to Dr. G (Gultawatvichai) and team. Also Beacon/Amedisys Hospice for their care in his final days.
