Mathias "Skip" O'Malley

Mathias T. O'Malley Jr. "Skip" of Whitman passed away suddenly at Mass General Hospital on Saturday January 10, 2014 at the age of 69. He was the beloved husband of Sharon A. (Davis) O'Malley. Son of the late  Mathias T. O'Malley Sr. and Mary A. (Devitt) O'Malley. The proud father of Michael T. O'Malley and Theresa of Falmouth, Craig B. O'Malley and Stacy of Falmouth, and Shannon O'Malley Farrell of Whitman. Brother of John and Joanne O'Malley of Medway, George and Marianne O'Malley of West Roxbury, Maureen 'Ree" Rodriguez of Roslindale, and the late Joseph O'Malley and his wife Maureen "Mickey" O'Malley of Roslindale. He was the beloved 'Bebar" to his grandchildren Erin, Caitlin, and Ciara O'Malley of Falmouth, Kristan and Michael Hebert of Milford, NH. Great Grandfather of Baylen Hebert. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

Mathias "Mat" was employed for over 35 years for Boston Edison Co (N-Star) Energy. Member of Local 396 and was Shop Steward and ran the elections for 35 years. He was a Soccer and Basketball Coach in Whitman for over 15 years. He was a Whitman CERT member for over 10 years, and currently employed as a Bus Driver for the Whitman-Hanson and Abington Schools with First Student Bus Lines.

Visiting hours will be held from the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St. Whitman, on Wednesday 4-8 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman on Thursday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment St. James Cemetery in Whitman.
