Mary Ferguson

January 7, 1937 — May 8, 2016

Mary Ellen (Condon) Ferguson of Rockland, MA formerly of Boynton Beach, FL entered into heaven on Mother’s Day Sunday May 8, 2016. Wife of the late John Q. Ferguson.  She is survived by her children: John Ferguson and his wife Julie of Sandwich, Daniel Ferguson and his wife Megan of Easton, Mary Anne Burke and her husband Bryan of Alexandria, VA, Patricia Burmeister and her late husband Tom of Jefferson City, MO and Meghan Cleaves and her husband Billy of Hanover. Sister of Patricia Crane of Rockland, David Condon of Boynton Beach, FL, and the late Evelyn, Bobby and Billy Condon. Grandmother of Katie Ferguson, Abby and Rachael Keir, Caroline, Joseph and Ella Ferguson, Brianna and Connor Burke, Michael and Joseph Burmeister, and Billy and Phoebe Anna Cleaves.

Mary Ellen was born in Whitman.  Mary Ellen and her family summered in Manomet. She loved going to the beach, and spending time at the ocean. She was an avid sports fan: Red Sox, Celtics and The New England Patriots. She enjoyed winning at bingo and would always go with her relatives and friends. Her lucky Irish streak continued when she picked the winner of the Kentucky Derby by her bedside! She enthusiastically supported and would follow all of her grandchildren’s sporting events and interests. Her final years was spent at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham, where she formed many friendships with not only residents but with many dedicated employees.  “Cardinals appear when angles are near.”

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home (The former Cardinal Spellman Residence) 760 Washington St., Whitman on Friday May 13 th 4-8 pm.

Funeral Mass Saturday in Holy Ghost Church at 9 am.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary Ellen's memory to the Queen Anne Nursing Home-Activities Fund, 50 Recreational Park Dr., Hingham, MA 02043.
