Mary Devereux

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (McGuigan) Devereux, of Abington, 97, passed away peacefully on November 19 ^th after a brief illness.  Born in Somerville Massachusetts and raised in Winthrop, Mary was the twin sister of Bernard J. McGuigan.  She was the beloved daughter of Bernard J. and Anna E. McGuigan (Shields).  The wife of the late Joseph M. Devereux, she is survived by her son Kevin J. Devereux of Abington and her son Mark J. Devereux and his wife Mary Green Devereux of Oakland, California and her two grand-daughters Elisabeth and Cara Devereux also of Oakland.  She was well loved by dear nieces, nephews and a large extended family.  Betty was predeceased by her revered sister Ann C. (Nancy) Devereux, brother Bernie, husband Joe and her precious daughter Karen A. Devereux of Boston and remained strong throughout those terrible losses.  Betty will be remembered by friends and family as a gracious, fun and loving person.
