Mark L. Bentley of Brockton passed away March 26, 2014 at the Kindred Tower Hill Center in Canton. He was 64. Mark was born in Longview, WA after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam. He was awarded a bronze star, with a V device and Purple Heart x 2, Vietnam campaign medal, meritorious service medal, and many more. After his tour in the Army Mark enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving his country for over 20 years active service and retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He then worked for the VA Hospital in Jamaica Plain and then Brockton as an IT specialist. Mark was a longtime member of American Legion Post 22 in Whitman. Mark was a wonderful human being, a patriot, devoted husband and great friend he will be missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Rosemarie L. (Durante) Bentley. Son of Helen Joan (Lawrence) Bentley of Apple Valley, CA, and the late Clifford Bentley. Brother of Scott Bentley of Pasadena, CA,  John Bentley of WA, and the late Joanne Klouzal. Son-in-law of Jennie Durante of Quincy. Brother-in-law of Gail and the late Clement of Hanson, Gail and her late husband Vincent of TX, Annabella Ginches and her husband Fred of Norwell, Robert Mood and his late wife Carmella of Quincy, and Rico Durante and his wife Linda of Whitman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Sunday Mar. 30 th 2-4 & 6-8 pm.

A Funeral Service will be on Monday at 10:30 am in the funeral Home. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
