Lynn Burbidge Bergh, 58, of Falmouth, died Dec. 24, 2013.
An exceptional 18-year survivor of lung cancer, Lynn learned early in 2013 that her cancer had returned. After a series of radiation treatments didn't help, she developed pneumonia in December and died at Falmouth Hospital.
Lynn was born March 20, 1955, in Connecticut. She graduated from F.T. Maloney High School in Meriden, CT, in 1973. After her first bout of lung cancer in 1994, she received an Associate Degree from CCCC, then received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Bridgewater State College in 2001.
An active member of the Falmouth Theatre Guild, Lynn served as its president for several years in addition to producing shows and working on make-up, props, costumes and sets.
Last October at the Guild's annual meeting, Lynn was honored with the annual "Gilly Award" for her years of service. She also assisted with theater productions in Woods Hole, and at the Falmouth and Bourne public schools.
Lynn is survived by two children: Dalyn Bergh of San Francisco, CA, and Bethani Bergh of Falmouth, and her granddaughter, Kalyn Rose Romero. She is also survived by her two sisters, Carolyn Ladd of Stafford Springs, CT, and Roberta Knopp of Homosassa, FL.
Lynn's funeral was held on Dec. 30, 2013, at the Ellington Congregational Church in Ellington, CT. A memorial will be held for her this spring in the garden at Highfield Theater; the date will be announced when available. Any donations can be made to the Lynnie Bergh Family Fund at giveforward.com.
