Lyman C. Douglas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lyman C. "Bucky" Douglas, age 85 of Marshfield, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, retired army veteran, and devoted Red Sox Fan. Lyman who left us on September 14, 2023, brought love, joy, and profound sense of duty to every facet of his life.

Bucky was raised in Hanson. He joined the Army after high school and married his wife, Mary "Judi" shortly after his military service. They started a family together in Brockton before moving to Abington where they have countless memories raising their family together.

In his retirement, Bucky found his greatest source of happiness in his role as a grandfather. He adored his two grandsons, Ryan and Kyle, and cherished every moment spent watching them play and grow. Their laughter and boundless energy brought immense joy to his life, and he was always there with a kind word of encouragement or a comforting embrace.

Bucky worked as an accountant for most of his life. He was a huge Red Sox Fan, enjoyed casino trips, the annual family trip to the Carver Old Home Day Clam Bake, and never missed an opportunity to attend the boy’s basketball, soccer, baseball games and school events.  

Bucky was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Judith Douglas (Pierce), he is survived by his children Eric Douglas of Halifax and Tracy O'Connor and her husband Neil of Hanson, and his grandchildren Ryan and Kyle O'Connor.

As we say our final goodbyes to Lyman, we remember him not with tears or sadness but with gratitude for the love, laughter, and inspiration he shared with us all. Rest in peace, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Funeral arrangements for Bucky will be private for his family.
