Kerri A. O'Malley of East Sandwich, MA passed away Sunday morning, December 1, after almost 4 years fighting cancer. Kerri grew up in Brockton and raised her children there until 2013, when she fulfilled her dream of living near the beach and moved to Cape Cod.
After graduating from Brockton High School she attended Nichols College, and later obtained her Master's in psychology from Lesley University. From there she began practicing as a counselor at Women's Place Crisis Center in Brockton working with domestic abuse survivors, and later transitioned to her role as adjustment counselor at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton.
Kerri is survived by her parents Linda and Jack O'Malley, her sister Missy O'Malley, her daughter Sloan Leone and husband Alex Leone, her sons Jack and Cameron O'Malley, and her grandchildren Enzo and Gianna Leone.
It's hard to put in words the kind of person Kerri was. She very rarely had anything bad to say about anyone, and put everyone's needs before her own. Anyone who was lucky enough to know her is better for it, and we hope that her legacy of kindness, grace, and strength is aspirational for everyone grieving her loss. While her absence in our lives is gut-wrenching, she's finally at peace which is a blessing.
A memorial gathering will be held for Kerri on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Stop by to share your memories of her any time between 2-5pm at Tutto Bene, 1050 Pearl St, Brockton, MA 02301. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Kerri's honor: https://www.thehotline.org/donate/.
