John J. “Buzz” O’Toole, 87 of Whitman passed away June 1, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Rita (O’Meara) O’Toole. Devoted son of the late Bartley and Helen (Lee) O’Toole. Loving father of Ellen Borden and dear friend Paul Fabrizio of Brockton, and Kathleen R. O’Toole and significant other Christopher Griffin of Abington. Brother of Kathleen “Kay” O’Toole of Falmouth, and longtime friend Maryann Silva. Mary Glynn and her late husband Edward of Quincy, Eileen Heger and her late husband David of Dorchester, and the late George O’Toole and his wife Elaine of Brockton, the late Francis “Frank” O’Toole and his wife Carol of Milford. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.

He was retired from the U.S. Post Office and a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and Patriots and Red Sox fan. He loved his Casino’s and scratch tickets. His late family fog Fifi whom he had an agreement with.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St, Whitman on Sunday June 5 th 5-7 pm.

Funeral Mass Monday in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9 am. Relatives and friends invited to attend.

Interment at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Buzz’s memory to N.E. Veteran’s Shelter for Disabled American Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
