We are saddened by the passing of John T. Concannon of Rockland, formerly of Hyde Park, on March 12, 2024. John passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 58 at the home he shared with his long-time partner Cheryl McMahon by his side. John was born to the late Mary and Coleman Concannon of Hyde Park on January 2, 1966. John was a graduate of Boston Technical High School in 1984.
John was an outstanding baseball player in his youth receiving lots of accolades for his talent in the field and at the plate. He loved to share his talents with his many nieces and nephews as well as kids in the neighborhood. John enjoyed watching Boston sports teams, especially our Red Sox. John was a skilled tradesman having spent years working construction. He was always happy to lend a helping hand to his family and friends whenever needed.
John was one of eight children. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (Fleming) and Coleman Concannon and his sister Colleen Dalton of Hyde Park. John leaves behind his siblings Coleman “Tim” and his wife Patricia of Taunton, Cathy Lewis of Marion, James and his wife Janice of Raynham, twin brother Paul Concannon of Dorchester, and Noreen Scott and her husband Joseph of Biddeford, ME. John is survived by many nephews and nieces as well as great nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his soul mate Cheryl McMahon of Rockland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Autism Awareness Foundation. There will be a private service at MacKinnon Funeral Home for immediate family.
