John Long

June 6, 1952 — February 8, 2018

John K. Long, 65 of Whitman formerly of Dorchester passed away February 8, 2018. Son of the late Alfred and Claire (Hines) Long. He is survived by his wife Donna (Hunt) Long, and his son Kevin F. Long of Whitman. Brother of the late Phyllis Stanley of Wareham. Son-in-law of Theresa Hunt of Dorchester. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

John was a retired Heavy Equipment operator for Mass. Highway Department. He was a member of the John P. McKeon Post in Dorchester, and a member of the Weymouth Elks Lodge.

Relatives and friends invited to attend Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Monday Feb. 12 th 4-8 pm.

Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at 9 am in the funeral home.

Burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s memory to American Cancer Society, 125 S Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
