John P. Curtin of Abington born June 3, 1955 in South Weymouth, passed away July 2, 2018 at age 63 after battling cancer. He is survived by his wife Lisa (Murphy) Curtin. Son John P. Curtin Jr. of Abington and daughter Nancy (Curtin) Galewski and her husband Stephen of Whitman. Grandchildren Brailana Elliott, and Kasara Elliott both of Weymouth, Olivia Mae Galewski and Stephen M. Galewski both of Whitman. Brother of William A. Curtin and his wife Susan of Brockton, Noreen Bailey and her late husband James of Hanover. Stephen Curtin of Rockland, Jerry Curtin and his wife Carol of Whitman, Judy Boyd and her husband Stephen of Braintree, and the late Thomas and Barbara Ann Curtin. Also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews all of whom he loved very much. He also had many beloved cousins.
John was mostly recently known as an antique dealer, and proprietor of Old Abington Country Store Antiques. He was also an executive chef for many years as well as a CDL truck driver. His hobbies included scuba diving, antiques hunting, and restoration, cooking, metal detecting, and coin collecting. Collecting in general was his passion. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends invited to attend visitation in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman Friday July 6 th 7:45- 8:45 am followed by a funeral mass in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9 am.
Burial with Military Honors will be held at Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:20 pm.
