John Albanese

J ohn A Albanese of East Bridgewater. Formerly of Brockton and Dorchester. Retired Boston Fire Department, working on multiple companies in his 27 years including T-1, L29, R2, E37 and E22. John graduated from South Boston High School in 1964. He joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam in 1966-67. John proudly served on the Boston Fire Department following in his fathers footsteps. John was a member of Boston Firefighters Local 718, the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, and the International Association of Firefighters. He was also a member of the Boston Fire Gaelic Brigade.

John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Holly (Reopell) Albanese, and his 8 children John W. Albanese of Brockton, Lisa Maiden and her husband Rick of Brockton, Christine Albanese of Brockton, Lucy Albanese of Taunton, Paul Albanese (FF E5 Brockton Fire Department) of Brockton, Scott Albanese (Dep. Chief Brockton Fire Department) and his wife Leona of East Bridgewater, Tina Butler and her husband Ed of Foxboro and Nicole Reopell of Rockland and his 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Brother of Angela Melchin of Quincy, Michael Albanese of Weymouth, William Albanese of Carver, Edith Albanese of South Boston, Linda Gathers of South Carolina and the late Elaine Montoya of Weymouth. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St. (Off Rte. 18) Whitman Wednesday 4-8 PM.

Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 210 Central St. East Bridgewater Thursday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.

Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
