During her 84 years, Jeanne Mahoney lived a big life. Nothing was done in a small way by this lovely woman with piercing blue eyes. A big family, big laugh and big talents are part of her legacy. Born in Belmont, MA on February 29, 1928 to Mary and Joseph Kirby, Jeanne entered the world as a leap year baby. She became a beloved sister to her brothers Joseph and Gerard, and sisters Mary and Ann. This family had a strong bond, in part by the loss of their father at a young age.
Jeanne went on to fall in love in a big way with Gerald (Skip) Mahoney, owner of Billings and Stover Apothecary of Harvard Square, MA. Meeting at Belmont High School, Jeanne and Skip went on to raise 7 children. But she didn’t stop there. Jeanne worked several secretarial jobs and had much enjoyment singing and acting with the “Lincoln Players” in productions such as, “The Boyfriend,” “Guys and Dolls,” and “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” We say goodbye to Jeanne Mahoney, a lover of the ocean, family, animals, babies, painting, piano playing, crossword puzzles, and a cold glass of chardonnay. Our Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt, passed away on April 21, 2012, 8:30 am, in her beloved
