Jean Donahey 88, of East Bridgewater and All American Assisted Living in Hanson, passed away peacefully October 29, 2018 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater from end stage COPD. She was born in Massachusetts on November 13, 1929. Prior to moving back to Massachusetts she resided in Columbus, OH and Edgewater, FL. She was a retired LPN from South Shore Hospital.
Jean was the daughter of the late Gertrude Sullivan, wife of the late John W. Donahey Jr. and sister of her late brother, Richard P. Woodsum of New Mexico.
She is survived by: her children (& their spouses)-the late Linda Cruickshank D.M.D., Deborah Lacey (Eugene), Robin (aka “Roberta”) Sampson, Paula Sampson of Florida, Donna Murphy(Michael) of Kentucky, and Robert Sampson (Rebecca) of Alabama and her stepchildren, Carol Holley of New York, Albert Donahey and John Donahey III of Ohio.
She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren Melissa Lacey Carone(Joseph), Brian Lacey (Stephanie), Angela Sampson, Jon-Michael Sampson of Alabama, Ray Jay and Joseph Oliver from Florida, and Diana and Amanda Murphy from Kentucky.
In addition she is survived by six great grandchildren! Aidan, Gavin, Giada and Adelaide Carone along with Iris and Lilliana Lacey. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no wake but a funeral mass for Jean will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church at 210 Central Street in East Bridgewater, on Tuesday, November 6th at 10:00 am. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
For those who wish to honor Jean’s memory a trust has been set up for her daughter, Robin. As such any memorial donations can be made out to “The Roberta Sampson Supplemental Needs Trust” c/o her sister, Deborah Lacey, 660 Washington, St., EastBridgewater, MA 02333.
