Jane Marie Nolan Galvin (91) of Whitman, MA and recently Montgomery, AL entered into glory with our LORD on June 29, 2024. Jane was born to Mary (Mae) and Bill Nolan on March 1, 1933, in North Quincy, MA. She is a 1950 graduate of North Quincy High School. She attended, graduated and then taught at Hickock’s Secretarial School. She was also a graduate of Massasoit Community College. In 1954 she married her high school sweetheart John (Jack) Galvin. She was a long-time resident of Hingham, MA where she raised her family and was active in numerous community activities including the women’s club at Resurrection of the Lord Parish, area bowling leagues, tennis leagues, Hingham Yacht Club and the Hingham Community Center’s annual Cabaret shows. Later she enjoyed playing golf and visiting with friends and family at her homes in Safety Harbor, FL and Norway, ME. Jane was much loved by her many friends and family and brought joy and fun to every situation.
Jane is predeceased in death by her parents Mae and Bill Nolan, Jack Galvin, and her longtime friend Charlie Schibener. She is survived by her daughter Ellen (Joe) McNair of Montgomery, AL, her son John (Susan) Galvin of Whitman, MA , her six grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Brian, Tim, Todd & Jaclyn, and 11 greatgrandchildren, sister-in-law Mary Ellen Neagle and nieces Jill Caffrey, Jodi Neagle and nephew Jay Neagle all of Scituate, MA, numerous grand nieces and nephews, and close dear family friends Lynne Pierce and family, and Donna Spinweber and family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation in memory of Jane on Saturday July 13, 2024 from 9-10AM in the MacKinnon Funeral Home at 760 Washington Street, Whitman, MA. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30AM at Holy Ghost Parish, Whitman followed by a graveside service at St. James Cemetery in Whitman.
