Gerald O'Shea

August 16, 1955 — January 2, 2022

Norwell

Gerry “Jazz” O’Shea passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 2, 2022 after a long illness. He was 66 years old. He was born August 16th, 1955 in Braintree, MA to Gerald “Buddy” O’Shea and Marilyn (Moore) O’Shea. Gerry spent his younger years in Braintree before moving to South Boston. He was a graduate of South Boston High School. He married Kathleen Gilliam in 1990 at a lakeside ceremony in Kingston, MA surrounded by family and friends. Together they raised two sons, Riley and Connor. Gerry was a devoted husband and father. He had a passion for everything and everyone he loved. Nothing was ever done halfway. He enjoyed cooking and feeding people. He was happy when the BBQ grill and smoker were going and the yard and house were filled with bikes, family and friends. It wasn’t always organized, but you were sure to hear a great story, laugh and leave with a hug and a full belly. Gerry also had a deep passion for motorcycles and riding. It didn’t matter what time of year. If there wasn’t snow or ice on the ground he would go for a ride. Whether it be down the road for breakfast or to Canada for the weekend. Riding was what he missed the most. He worked for Mathworks for 19 years. He loved his job along with the people he worked with and the friends he made. He was so proud of all that he was allowed to accomplish there.

Gerry is survived by his wife Kathleen of 31 years; his sons Riley O’Shea of Norwell and Connor O’Shea of Denver; his mother Marilyn O’Shea of Weymouth; His niece Amy Cristoferi; his nephews Phillip Cristoferi, Nikko Cristoferi, Mason Cristoferi, Michael O,Shea, Kevin O’Brien, Rahni Almir, niece Danielle and nephew Aidin O’Shea; along with several great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Gerald O’Shea; his brothers Michael O’Shea, and Sean O’Shea; his sisters Barbara Doering and Sheira Cristoferi; and his nephew Christopher Conley.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
