Gail Patricia (Adams) Rivers, 65, of Whitman, died unexpectedly after a brief illness on January 17th. She was the Beloved wife of the late James K Rivers, who was a dedicated Whitman police officer for 34 years. Gail was raised in Rockland MA, daughter of the late Zenas and Frances (Peabody) Adams. She was a resident of Whitman for the last 49 years. Gail worked at Brockton Hospital for 18 years as an EKG tech and phlebotomist. She enjoyed playing bingo and shopping with her sisters. She shared her family's love of the cape and spent a lot of time researching family genealogy. One of her favorite things to do was cook and spend time with her daughters and grandchildren.
Gail is survived by her three daughters, Sheila Rivers of Whitman, Amanda (Rivers) Kelly and husband Shane, Erica Rivers of Weymouth, her late son-in-law Daniel Hayward, her siblings Donald Adams and wife Lynn of Whitman, Cindy (Adams)Taylor and husband Donald, Linda (Adams) Chasse of Virginia, Sharon (Adams) Lawlor of Halifax and Susan (Adams) Cunningham and husband Steve, loving grandmother of Samantha and Devin Hayward, Tyghe Shimkus and Gavin Kelly. Also survived by many cousins and family members.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, January 20th 3-6 pm in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman.
