Frances Smith

Frances A. (Petronis) Smith of Quincy passed away peacefully , at the age of 101, on December 6, 2017. Loving wife of the late Major Marvin C. Smith. Beloved mother of Sandra F. McLeod (spouse of late Thomas J. Mcleod) of Quincy and Carol A. Smith of Quincy. Devoted big sister of the late Estelle Mills (spouse of the late Joseph Mills) of Weymouth and of the late Ann Hasenfuss (spouse of the late Peter Hasenfuss) of Dedham.
Frances lived a full life with her friends and family. She traveled the world with her children and husband, who was a career military officer. She was proud of her Southie heritage, her husband’s dedication and sacrifice to his country, and of her children and family just for being themselves.
She taught her children by example to be strong, courageous, and kind to strangers and animals.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St, Whitman, Monday December 11 th from 9:30 to 10:30
A funeral service will follow at 10:30 am in the funeral home.
Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
