Frances L. Bennett-Lusardi of Whitman, passed away May 10, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer at Good Samaritan Hospital. Frances was born May 5, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to the late Johnny and Madeline Douthit of Texas.

Frances grew up in Texas and was raised by her mother and grandmother, along with her two brothers and sister, whom she often shared fond memories of in her later years. She attended and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Texas, as well as earning her Associates Degree from Quincy College.  Frances lived in Texas with her first husband, James Bennett, 3 children, Cynthia, Michael and Kimberly, before moving to Hull, Massachusetts. She enjoyed many days at Nantasket Beach with her family, and often returned to the beach to play with her grandchildren.

Frances and Edward were married on June 22, 1990, and spent many years enjoying their family and grandchildren in Eastern and Western Pennsylvania. Frances and Edward returned to Massachusetts three years ago and has lived in Whitman near her son and three grandsons, whom she enjoyed hearing about their karate adventures, playing at the beach, and weekend breakfasts.

Frances leaves behind her devoted husband, Edward Lusardi of Whitman, and her children, Michael Bennett (son) and Sara Pomeroy Bennett of Whitman, Roger and Kimberly Shaughnessy (daughter) of Pennsylvania, Paul (step-son) and Annette Lusardi of Oregon, and Diane (step-daughter) and Brian Glidden of New Hampshire. She leaves behind her brothers Robert and Paula Hudgins of Texas, and Larry and Sue Douthit of Texas, as well as her sister Sheryl and Bruce Trojanowksi of Texas.  Frances was the grandmother to 10 grandchildren, David, Patrick, Mikayla, McKenzie, Cullin, Connor, Matthew, Parker, Adam and Jonathan, and 5 great-grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Bennett.

Frances enjoyed many a trip to ski at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire, and walking the shores of Nantasket Beach. She spent her time spoiling her many grandchildren, playing on the computer, and spending time with her husband.  She will be greatly missed by her family.

A funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Ghost Church 47 School Street, Whitman MA on Wednesday, May 20 th at 9:00am.  Interment will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the HopeHealth Hospice at 1324 Belmont Street #202, Brockton, MA 02301.
