Emilia “Mimi” ( Krizko) Dean Franklin & Fairhaven, MA, died October 8, 2016, at her family home. Her wish to be cared for at home was respected and made possible by her family. (Special thanks to Anita, Alberto, Cathy, Jenna & Shannon.) At 16, she emigrated from Slovakia to CT, became a U.S. citizen and joined the WACs where she met her husband Robert (died 1985) while serving this Country. They married in CA before returning to Bob’s family home in Franklin. She was an adventurous woman that loved to travel and experience all life had to offer. She was loved and respected by everyone. She was the beloved mother of and survived by sons Bobby & Kenny, daughters Barbara, Janet (& Larry) Bederian, Marcia (& John) McAuley, her grandchildren Larry, Lori & Jeffrey (& Fern) Bederian, and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Dean, her niece Marta Dubravcova, and extended family members in Slovakia and CT. She was predeceased by brothers John and Martin. Emilia’s zest for life was infectious and boundless. A devoted mother and true friend with strength, warmth & charm genuinely felt by all. Her church, faith & family sustained her. She made time for all dear friends to converse& enjoy many of life’s simple pleasures. She worked tirelessly for the Unitarian Universalist Church & its success throughout her lifetime.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 3, 2016 in the First Universalist Society Franklin, 262 Chestnut Street, Franklin, MA 02038 at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Franklin Public Library Gift Fund, 25 Kenwood Circle, Franklin, MA 02038, or a charity of your choice.
