Dorothy Burgess
August 3, 1932 — August 27, 2015
Dorothy “Dottie” H. (Steen) Burgess of Pembroke formerly of Hough’s Neck, Quincy passed away August 27, 2015 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She is survived by her children Edmund J. Burgess Jr. of Pembroke, Kathleen Nolan and her husband Mark of Halifax, and Sandra (Shanti) Williams and her wife Harriet Winer of East Weymouth. Sister of Thomas and Joseph Steen, both of Quincy, and the late James, and John Steen, and Mary Tegan. Grandmother of Danielle Zingaro, Nicholas Zingaro, Sandra Davis, Jeffrey Williams, Jenna Williams, and Andrew Nolan. Great-grandmother of Marin, Astoria, Mabel, Olive, Sailor, Fox, and Dottie.
Dottie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother always putting her family first. As matriarch of her close knit family she enjoyed cooking and entertaining for the entire family. Her feisty spirit and giving nature will be missed by all.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday August 30th from 3-5 with the memorial service beginning at 4 pm at MacKinnon Funeral Home at 760 Washington St., Whitman. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
