Donna Harding

October 14, 1948 — March 4, 2014

Donna M. (Harrington) Harding, 65, of Whitman, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, at South Shore Hospital, South Weymouth after a brief illness. Born in Brighton, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ahern) Harrington of Florida and the late Francis Harrington. Donna graduated from Whitman-Hanson High School in 1966 and Massasoit Community College in 1968. She was a longtime employee in the Vermont school systems and received an award from the Governor for her work with autistic children. She later returned to Massachusetts and became the executive assistant to the assistant dean at the MIT School of Engineering where she worked for many years. Donna was extremely generous and will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, entertaining family and friends and cheering for New England sports teams.

She is survived by her longtime, loving companion, Robert E. Luddy of Whitman, two sons, Seth Harding of Virginia and Nathan Harding of Alaska; and grandson Cooper Harding of Alaska. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Judy DeGraan of Hanson, Maureen Hanrahan of Florida and Kenneth Harrington of Whitman ; devoted friends, Brenda Cronin of Whitman, Patricia Horger of Whitman and Cathleen Tinsley of Middleboro.; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
