David M. Delisle

February 13, 1962 — July 5, 2024

Fall River, MA

David Michael Delisle,(62), passed peacefully on July 5, 2024, after fighting a heroic battle against cancer. A lifelong resident of Fall River, MA., David graduated from Durfee High School in 1981. He later went on to study radio and television broadcasting at the Sawyer School in Rhode Island. He loved the performing arts and joined the Little Theatre of Fall River, where he was cast in several productions. Most memorably, the role of Jacob Marley in 'A Christmas Carol'. He worked in the reupholstery business, alongside his brother, as a furniture technician and served in the U.S. Army.

David was an avid collector. In the 90's he opened a comic book store, 'COSMIC COMICS' on Pleasant St. in Fall River, where he held MAGIC: The Gathering tournaments. He was a multifaceted artist, an abstract painter, cartoonist, videographer, and magician. He loved to mesmerize an audience with his magic and comedy wit. David enjoyed nature and the outdoors, going for long hikes, fishing, swimming and camping each summer in Ashland and White Lake, N.H., being with his family for picnics and holidays.

David was born 9th of 11 children to the late Doris Ann Murphy and Gerald Delisle. He is survived by the love of his life for over 25 years, Lisa Aldrich. Godmother and sister, Claire DeJongh and husband Gene, Ken Delisle and wife Pam, Gail Brun and husband Alan, Margaret Mary Delisle, Steve Delisle and wife Brigette, Nancy Simpson, Mark Delisle and wife Amy, and Lynn Marie Delisle. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Delisle and sister, Susan Birkett. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, who will remember him for his many talents and the love and attention he showed them.

He had a wonderful heart and always wanted to help others. An enormous capacity to love life, infectious sense of humor, the eternal boy who refused to "grow up". In the last several years since his cancer diagnosis, David has uplifted so many by his positive outlook even through the most difficult times and pain. Thank you to the medical team at Southcoast Health Cancer Center, his incredible support family on Facebook, and his dear friends at Curtain Lofts.

There will be a memorial service at Pacific Union Congregational Church, 526 Old County Road, Westport, MA., on Saturday July 27, 10-11 am, with refreshments to follow in the church hall. David loved a good party and requested that all his family and friends gather together to celebrate his life. In the words of David " See you in toon town, Pops out. "
