Daniel O'Brien

December 5, 1958 — April 6, 2016

Daniel P O’Brien, 57, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Bridgewater, died peacefully Wednesday April 6, 2016 at home surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Karen (Dunbar) O’Brien. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (McFadden) OBrien. Dan was raised in Bridgewater and was a graduate of Bridgewater Raynham High School. He had been employed at the MCI Bridgewater State Hospital and many local restaurants before attending Nursing School. As a graduate of Southeastern Regional Technical School’s Licensed Nursing program, he worked for several Long Term and Sub-Acute nursing facilities over the years, before finding his way to his beloved work family and the residents of Life Care Center of Raynham, where he was employed for over 10 years, until illness forced an early retirement. The patriarch and family historian, Dan enjoyed traveling, time spent with family, being in control of the remote, and amassing one of the largest FarmVille farms in history.

Dan was the best friend and soulmate of Mr. John Lavey of East Bridgewater  and Tewksbury, the generous father of Kaitlin O’Brien, Godfather and Uncle of Mary Spear and her husband Michael of Bridgewater, and their children Jeremy and Margaret Spear; brother of Grace Archey of Arizona, Mary Washburn of Bridgewater, Kathleen Flynn of Florida, Ramona McDonald of Chatham, Patrick OBrien of Brockton, and the late William, Kevin, Dennis, Sharon Boucher,  and Nancy OBrien. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews James and John Junkin, Kristen Holbrook and David Wordell, as well as many others.
