Daniel Kirby
July 14, 1930 — January 24, 2014
Daniel T. Kirby of Whitman passed away January 24, 2014. He was 83. Beloved husband for 53 years of Mary Virginia (Kannaly) Kirby. Father of Kathleen Meehan and her husband Thomas of Whitman, and Daniel Kirby and his wife Rachel of Orlando, FL. Brother of Eileen Walsh of Mashpee, and the late James and Chester Kirby. Grandfather of Thomas, Jeffrey, Katelyn, Bridget, Jessica, Daniel III, Reily and Caden. Also survived by 5 great-grandsons.
Daniel was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked as a dairy manager for First National Stores and also as maintenance personnel for Whitman Schools. After retiring he was a resident of Sun City Center, FL. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 347 in Whitman.
Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St. Whitman on Monday Jan. 27 th 4-7 pm.
Funeral Mass Tuesday in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9 am. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment will be private.
