Corinne M. (Terrazzano) Welch died May 18 at age 90. Beloved wife of the late Ernest J. Welch, World War II army veteran.
Born Chiara in Grottaminarda, Italy, she immigrated with her family to Ellis Island in 1929. She was a gifted student and graduated with honors from Sumner High School in Holbrook, Mass. in 1940.
She married Ernest in 1945 and they resided in Avon until 1986, then moved to East Bridgewater. They were married for over 50 years.
Corinne’s interests included oil painting, gardening, ballroom dancing and singing in a community glee club. She was also an avid reader and excellent cook. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Corinne was the loving Mother of Ernest Welch, Laurence Welch, Marianne Welch-Batstone and Tina (Welch) Lundgren. She was the devoted Grandmother of Sarah Welch DeMayo, Nicholas Welch, Kristyl (Welch) Thompson, Anthony Welch, Matthew Batstone, Julia Welch, Dennis Welch and Anya Welch-Batstone, and Great-grandmother to Benjamin and Zander DeMayo. She is survived by her sister Amelia Vianello. She was the sister of the late Michael Terrazzano and Ilda Terrazzano.
