Constance (Connie) Marie Sheridan died peacefully in her home in Abington on April 12 after a full and vibrant 93 years of life. Born in Stoneham, she was the loving mother of four daughters and three sons, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Her family, many friends and neighbors will miss her infectious laughter, her free spirit, and her love of life.
Connie’s first job was delivering singing telegrams in Boston in the early 1940s. She sold real estate on the South Shore for 30 years, and volunteered her time reading to the blind for 15 years on WATD-FM radio, and delivering Meals on Wheels. Connie was an avid golfer and world traveler. She had a passion for music—especially jazz. She played the piano, sang with perfect pitch and performed with Sweet Adelines. She will be remembered for her love of learning, crossword puzzles, books and Scrabble. She was a long-time member of the South Shore Writers Club and published many articles about her travel adventures around the globe.
Services will be private at Connie’s request.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in her name to one of her favorite charities: Smile Train ( www.smiletrain.org ), Doctors Without Borders (www.doctorswithoutborders.org) or the Elizabeth Warren for Senate campaign (elizabethwarren.com).
