Coleman (“Curly”) Gannon of East Bridgewater, formerly of Abington, passed away at his home on January 21, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Curly was born in Co. Galway, Ireland to the late Cole and Sarah Gannon. Curly was a loving husband to his wife Joan (Corcoran) Gannon for 49 years.

Devoted father of Patrick Gannon of Rockland, Susan Leonard and her husband Wes of Marshfield, Maura Bagley and her husband Tom of East Bridgewater, Sara Gannon and her companion Jeremy Iacobucci of Abington. Cherished Grandfather (“Da”) of Sarah Elizabeth, Cole, Anna, Maggie, Sean, Gavin and Ryan. Loving Brother of Sally Moorhouse of Weymouth, Peggy and the late Tommy White of Plympton, and Norah Gannon of Plymouth. Dear Brother-in-law of Mim and Ed Connors of Plymouth, Noreen and the late Billy McDonnell of Marshfield, Sonny and Claire Corcoran, Kathleen and Dermot Flynn, and Breeda and Jimmy Browne, all of Ireland. Curly was loved by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was a dear uncle to Carol Higgins, Susan Finn and the late Debbie Moorhouse and a dear friend of P.J. O’Shaughnessy.

Curly was a retired member of the Laborer’s Union Local 223, member of the Knights of Columbus of Abington and served in the U. S. Army in the 1960s.

Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St., Whitman on Friday Jan. 24 th 4-8 pm.

Funeral Mass Saturday in St. Bridget’s Church, Abington at 9 am. Interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rockland.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370-1055.
