Christopher J. MacIver of East Bridgewater March 19, 2013. He was 19 years old. Son of the late Leslie E. (Flanagan) MacIver. Step son of David Barnacle and Lisa Clare of East Bridgewater. He had a huge extended family, and he loved them all. Christopher lived in East Bridgewater with his step-dad Dave, step mom Lisa and step-sister Ashley. He is also survived by his father Christopher A. MacIver and his wife Lydia of Marshfield, brothers Dillon Beazley of Weymouth, Matthew and Tyler MacIver of Marshfield. Along with numerous one late sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins that range all over the east coast. He was visited frequently by his other step-sister Alyssa and her daughter Lylah. Christopher’s cousin Angela was more like a sister to him, and was one of his favorite people. He loved spending time with Angela, Dennis and their children Patrick and Bailey.
Christopher had a smile that would light up a room. You couldn’t help but smile back. He loved to help others, especially his mother who recently passed away from the same heart disease Christopher had. He was always thoughtful of others, and he had the biggest heart, and always wanted to help. Unfortunately his heart just wasn’t strong enough to keep him with us. He loved all his family and friends new and old. He loved playing almost any sports games on his X-box, and he loved all his Boston Teams.
He started Special Olympics while in Middle School. Over the years he earned many medals. This past summer he received gold in the standing long jump, and a bronze in the 40 yard dash. Most recently, his basketball team won the gold and dedicated it to Christopher. They presented him with his medal at a belated birthday party on Sunday. After Christopher’s party, Stephen Flynn surprised him by letting him drive his Mustang GT. He was thrilled and blown away. It made him so happy.
Christopher had been in the hospital a lot over the last three months. It was his wish to be at home, so everyone did what they could to make that happen and make him happy. He would want us all to remember him when he was happy and healthier. Christopher will be missed by everyone he touched.
