Charles “Dick” Labadie of Taunton passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2023, at the age of 83. Dick was raised and educated in Quincy and graduated from the Quincy High School. Once a graduate Dick joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 10 years. After he was honorably discharged, he began working with Pan Am Airlines. However, most of his career was spent with Semline as a maintenance mechanic.
Dick was a talented man who always strived to keep his mind sharp. He would challenge himself with puzzles, crosswords, build model boats, planes and trains. He enjoyed tending his garden and found a love of reading books on his kindle. Above all else he cherished his family. He spent as much time as he could with them creating memories that will not soon be forgotten.
Dick was the son of the late Charles W. Labadie and Virginia G Prout. He was the beloved husband of Donna Labadie (Eisan/Nimeskern) of Taunton. Dick was the devoted father of Joseph Nimeskern, his wife Lena of Weymouth and Kieran Nimeskern of Taunton. He was the proud grampa of Patrick, Devyn, Liam and Emma. Dick was predeceased by his brothers William and James and leaves behind his sister Marcia Doughty of Rockland along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation in honor of Dick on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 3-7 PM in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St. Whitman. A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11AM in the funeral home. A burial will immediately follow at the Central Cemetery in E. Bridgewater.
