Anthony J Volk, 79 of Fairhaven formerly of Marston Mills passed away January 3, 2022. He was born to parents Warren and Eleanor (Sullivan) Volk on April 17, 1942 in Dedham, Ma where he spent much of his childhood on the family dairy farm. After time spent in the Army stationed in France, he settled in Scituate. He then started his career working in textiles at Malden Mills, then later ran successful Service Master franchises and eventually started his own cleaning company. He enjoyed cross country adventures flying his own 5 seater airplane, being on the ocean in his sailboats, and sharing his interests and wisdom with his grandchildren. He enjoyed several winters in St. Petersburg, FL living on his sailboat. Tony was an active member of the Landfall Sailing Club and of the Bay Sailors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Anderson Volk and his son, Warren A. Volk. He leaves behind his daughters Debra Shute of Worcester and Kari Devine of Plymouth as well as step son Ian Anderson of Hyde Park. Brother of Christine Volk, Marybeth Volk, Warren Volk, all of California, and Elaine Marx of Fairhaven. Grandfather of Varina, Natalie, Liliana, Samantha, Hunter, Gunnar, Annie, Xavier, and Aili. Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home,760 Washington St., Whitman on Sunday Jan. 9 th 2-4 pm.
Funeral service Monday at 10 am in the funeral home.
Burial to follow at St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
