Wade Alexander Kelley of Abington died peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years M. Jean Smith Kelley, his loving sister Pamela Buchenauer and her husband Robert of Woodbridge, VA, sister-like cousin Janet Cann and her husband Donald of Rockland, MA, loved in-laws Kathleen and James Hunt of Hampstead, NH, Susan and Robert Crowley of Central Point, OR, Laurie and Gregory Smith of Dover, NH, Liane Smith of Dover NH, and Maureen and Kevin Smith of Virginia Beach, VA.  Wade is also survived by dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Son of the late Frances and Ira Kelley, Wade was born in Somerville and raised in Canton where he graduated Canton High School in 1969.  Wade met his future wife, Jeanie, while attending Nasson College, Springvale ME, graduating in 1973.  A former bank officer of the Bank of Canton, Wade retired from his science teaching position at Brockton East Middle School in 2014.  Wade was a sportsman who enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, tennis, chess, cards, and following professional sports.  He loved reading, vacationing at his timeshare on Martha's Vineyard, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Wade’s family thanks the staff of the Transplant Institute of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Norwell VNA Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

A gathering to celebrate Wade’s life will be held at MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St. Whitman, MA on Saturday, March 10 th , from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon with a brief service of remembrance at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Wade’s memory to First Congregational Church of Rockland, 12 Church St., Rockland, MA 02370.
