Stanley Rakoski

Stanley “Stan” J. Rakoski of Sarasota, Florida formerly of Rockland and Braintree passed away on November 18, 2015 at the age of 77. He was born in Boston; son of the late Mitchell J. & Agnes (Tyniec) Rakoski. He was husband of the late Urszula (Szymanek) Rakoski and the loving father of Alina Rakoski of Rockland. He was the devoted brother of Irene Ouellette of Braintree and Paul Rakoski and his wife Kathy of Randolph. Stan is also survived by many nieces, nephews and several cousins in Poland. The family would like to thank good friends Rod Darling and his wife Maria of Sarasota for taking special care of Stan while in Florida.
Stan served in the National Guard from 1956-1964. He worked in sales and was the owner of several restaurants. He was a talented musician. He was very proud of his Polish heritage and was the former Vice President of the Abington Polish Club.
Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, November 24th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St., Whitman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church in Whitman on Wednesday and burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
